Call to see if Cathy is accepting New Clients.
Cathy’s goal is to help her client’s move effectively through stressful situations and painful life and relational difficulties in order to experience more joy and a greater sense of self. She provides an emotionally safe place for both individuals and couples to learn how to process pain in a way that enables growth, wholeness and relational connectedness.
Through personal and professional experience, Cathy has found that painful events can cause us to get stuck in unhealthy thoughts, emotions and behaviors that negatively affect every aspect of life. Discovering where and how these patterns began can help bring healing to past wounds, as well as developing new ways of doing life and relationships. She also knows that having someone walk alongside you through the pain can make the healing process far less lonely.
Cathy is passionate about helping women feel comfortable in their own skin, embracing life and their own story. In particular, she loves sifting through the intricacies of relationship, uncovering better ways of connecting to oneself and others. Cathy enjoys helping couples deal with conflict and the ups and downs of life in a way that creates a more loving relationship and a deeper, more enduring bond. She also loves working with mothers and daughters, helping them better navigate this complicated, important relationship.
Cathy completed her Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology at Palm Beach Atlantic University. She is trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, which is based on the science of adult attachment and bonding. She is also trained in Internal Family Systems, an evidence-based, non-pathologizing way of understanding human problems enabling people to access healing and an internal sense of well-being. Finally, she is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), a therapeutic resource designed to help individuals process trauma and troublesome life experiences. Cathy is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
Cathy has been married for over 30 years, has two adult children, both married, three grandchildren and one grand-dog. She is an avid reader, loves exercise, travel and spending time with her family and friends.
