Now Accepting New Clients!
Carolyn joined the Charis team in 2018, bringing over 20 years of counseling experience with her. Because she was trained in the medical field, she is able to implement the information she learned there into her work.
Carolyn is a licensed marriage and family therapist who worked for many years as a family therapist in a chemical dependency agency where she focused on family issues. She is also licensed as a Chemical Dependency Counselor. In her training she gained experience in treating a large variety of conditions including: mental health issues, brain injury, fetal alcohol, and personal areas including life direction, goal setting, self-esteem and life scripting. Because of her years of work, she has gained expertise in a variety of addictions, substance abuse, codependency, trauma, sexual abuse and anxiety and depression. Recently, she added EMDR to her skill base.
Carolyn has been married for over 41 years and has two children. She enjoys helping families and couples resolve issues and find healing. Carolyn enjoys working with couples to help them understand the elements of a good relationship and gain the tools necessary to have a better family life. She is trained in the Prepare and Enrich tool so that couples can improve their relationship or prepare more effectively for a marriage relationship. She travels to Africa to teach on marriage and family at a Master’s level university.
Carolyn understands that each client has a unique perspective and path to healing. She connects well with her clients, and from that trusting relationship walks with them on that journey.
